The Jenison Chamber of
Commerce named Computer House Calls its business of the year
and Chuck Schipper its business person of the year. Chamber
President Jim DeVries said Computer House Calls received the
honor largely due to owner Dan Tomaszewski's
anti-pornography efforts through the Children's Assessment
Center and his assistance helping Habitat for Humanity wire
homes for computers and teach residents how to use them.
Schipper
received the honor for his efforts forming Harbor House, a
group providing housing for adults with multiple
disabilities. The chamber also awarded its annual Ted
terHaar Scholarships to Jenison High School seniors Kelsey
McPhee ($1500) and Laura Barritt and Alex Thivierge ($1000
each). The scholarships are available to graduating seniors
residing in Georgetown Township who plan to study business
in college.

The May meeting will be something
special. For one thing, it's a lunch
meeting, in place of our normal
morning meeting for May. For
another, we will be honoring the
recipients of the Ted terHaar
Memorial Scholarships and the
Business of the Year and Business
Person of the Year awards. Noel
Cuellar, President of Primera
Plastics, will be the guest speaker.
The luncheon invitations will be
sent to all members.
